Weekend Links - Mini Series on "Blogs I Love" (1/3) - http://eliseblaha.typepad.com

As part of my weekend links, I am embarking on a new mini series titled  "Blogs I Love". These posts will introduce the blogs that  I love and read on a regular basis. Links to particular posts will be posted as well for your ease of reading.

First on my list, a blog that I read DAILY -  http://eliseblaha.typepad.com

This blog is written by Elise, a mommy blogger who owns a very successful blog and online store. I love her many varied posts touching on topics such as motherhood, running an online business, writing a regular blog, décor, photography etc. Her generosity in sharing is really out of this world! Her frank and candid style of writing is definitely very much appreciated too! Some links to a few favourite posts...

Online Business
In here, Elise talked about how she puts up a daily post, where her inspirations come from and best of all, the way she organizes her posts. Very inspiring and a totally do-able method.

This is an extension of and a more detailed and updated post of using a DIY cork board as an editorial calendar. It is very practical and she was totally candid about how some posts worked out and how some didn't which then totally makes one appreciate how flexible her "editorial calendar" can be :)

Photography

This is by far, one of my favorite  post by Elise. She shares generously how she gets those fantastic photos on her blog, especially those of her daughter :) Something that totally resonated with me as I can take say 20 shots of the same action on my baby and only 1 or 2 can see "light" so as to speak :P

Another fantastic post on photo taking on one of the hardest subject - our babies! She easily covers angles, different perspectives and more great ideas that I mentally filed away :)

Motherhood

One of her category of post that can easily reduce me to tears and touched me in places that no other post will. As a mommy, I too want to take special note of all these treasured moments and have them somewhere so that I will never forget. Elise had made me more aware of simple daily moments that are truly nuggets of treasures, so priceless yet so simple and real.

Another of her heartfelt post that makes mommyhood real.

Project Life
g) This was how I got to know Elise and fell in love with her writing. I love the Project Life Seafoam edition when it was first introduced in Becky Higgins blog. I jumped at the chance of getting to know the designer better. When Elise was subsequently selected into the Studio Calico's designer team, I couldn't be happier as I love her spreads! She always has so much ideas, so many varied perspectives and takes on a spread that I am almost always amazed by her creativity. The links will lead you to just a few of my personal favorites.

Online business
Embarking on an online business myself, her generosity in sharing her process, how she does what, is truly very very very much appreciated! She had given me lots of thoughts, inspirations, sparked my own creativity and most important of all, letting me know that everyone goes through these initial  phases of setting up and finding your own ground. It was strangely comforting :) Again, the links below will lead you to some of her posts that truly helped me and sparked my ideas!

Stumbling onto her blog was one of the best thing that had happened to me. Her candid and truthful take on life as a mommy, a work at home mum, a business owner, a creator were all so appropriate for me at this point in my life. There were so many times that I go back to her posts to re-read and to gain even more insights onto my own circumstances. This is a daily read that I want need to have. Over the past 2 years or so, it had became a staple in my blog "diet" :)

This post is by no means affiliated or sponsored. It is my personal sharing of my own accord. Blog owner had been informed and a link to this post is provided for their reading pleasure. It is also my small way of thanking them, from the bottom of my heart, for making my blog reading so much more richer and substantial and they have touched my life in one  or many ways
.
